You know the story ends at the empty tomb. But do you know what happened next?
After the resurrection, Mary Magdalene did not stay behind. She set sail. She crossed
the Mediterranean. And she landed on the shores of what is now the South of France,
where she preached, baptized, healed, and eventually withdrew into the cave at
Sainte-Baume to live as a mystic for thirty years.
Her skull rests in a basilica there to this day. Her name is carved into the stones of
hilltop villages. Her presence is woven into the landscape like a second gospel, one
that was never suppressed, only forgotten.
We're going to find it.
This August, your hosts Kristin Hanggi and Natalie Roy are traveling the sacred trail of
Mary Magdalene through the South of France and bringing you with them.
From the wild marshes of the Camargue, where tradition says her boat first touched French soil, to the cave in the Sainte-Baume forest where she spent decades in contemplation. To the sacred waters of Rennes-les-Bains where she is said to have baptized, and the mysterious hilltop village of Rennes-le-Château where her legend runs so deep it inspired secret societies, scholars, and the Da Vinci Code.
Â
"She is the apostle of the apostles. The one who carried the flame when everyone else ran. We want to know what that flame asks of us."
Â
We'll be reading her story through The Gospel of Mary, Andrew Harvey's The
Magdalene Revolution, Meggan Watterson's Mary Magdalene Revealed, and Seren
Bertrand and Azra Bertrand MD's The Magdalene Mysteries: The Left Hand Path of the Divine Feminine, bringing these layered wisdoms into conversation with our modern lives.
A pilgrimage map of six sacred sites in southern France associated with Mary Magdalene.
Provence · Languedoc · the south of France

Rennes-les-Bains
The village of sacred waters and hot springs, associated with her ministry and the baptisms she is said to have performed here.
Rennes-le-Château
The mysterious hilltop village at the heart of her enduring legend — a presence so deep it has inspired secret societies, scholars, and the Da Vinci Code.

This is for you if you've been quietly wondering if there's more.
More to your spiritual life. More to your authority. More to the feminine lineage you
sense but can't quite name. If you've always felt something in Mary Magdalene's story
that the official version didn't capture, you were right.
She was not a footnote. She was a teacher, a mystic, and a woman who built
something from nothing in a foreign land because she believed in what she carried.
We're following that path to find out what it means for us, now, in our lives, in our
work, in our becoming.
Come with us.
